Ready for a new look? Need some help figuring out the materials for your project? Thinking about a spa, but don't know where to put it? Overwhelmed by plant choices? Do your plants need a trim, but you don't know where to start? Read on.

The two-hour consultation begins with an interview. The interview helps me determine how the space will be used and how you would like it to look and feel. The answers to the interview questions also guide me as I sketch ideas and receive feedback from you. As I am working with trace paper over a scale drawing that shows the configuration of the yard, the final sketch can be copied and shared with those bidding on the project. If you do not already have a site plan, I am happy to mail grid paper with squares 1/8" by 1/8" to help you in creating the plan. Each foot you measure becomes the side of one square. Having a site plan prepared prior to the consultation allows us to jump right into the design process after the interview, allowing you to get the most for your money. The design fee for the two hours is $300.00.

I have been designing professionally since 1985. Prior to establishing my own business in 1990, I worked with several Bay Area landscape architects. I completed U.C. Berkeley's Landscape Architecture Certificate Program (five-year program) with additional coursework in horticulture (Merritt College, Oakland). I have a California State Landscape Contractor's License and a Masters Degree in Administration and Supervision (former life as an elementary school principal).
For the past several years I have offered consulting packages that include, but are not limited to, suggestions for the layout of both hardscape (patios, pathways, etc.) and softscape (lawn and planting areas) - and suggestions for paving materials, detailed planting plans, and low-voltage lighting layouts.
